MBA Admission Requirements

The following are general requirements for entry into the MBA program:

1. Submit the online application and application fee

2. Submit official transcripts.  Note: Transcripts from Humboldt do not need to be submitted

3. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a foreign institution

         (e.g., AACSB, ICABE, or ACBSP accredited program)

4. One of two possible pathways:

A. Grade point average exceeding 3.25 ("A" = 4.00) on all undergraduate work and a 3.00 GPA or better on any graduate work already completed*

B. Five or more years of professional work experience in a business setting with minimum undergraduate GPA exceeding 2.75*

5. Foundation courses in accounting, economics, finance, statistics or equivalent. 


    Accounting BA 250 (4) Financial Accounting (or equivalent)

    Economics:  ECON 210 (4) Principles of Economics (or equivalent)

    Finance:  BA 360 (4) Principles of Finance (or equivalent)

    Statistics:  STAT 108 (3) Elementary Statistics (or equivalent)

Applicants must complete all degree requirements shown above before enrolling in MBA courses.

Students can apply to our MBA program without fulfilling these requirements, but they must complete all the degree requirements shown above before enrolling in MBA courses. 

*NOTE: If applicants do not meet the GPA or work experience requirement, the applicant’s undergraduate GPA must exceed 2.75 and GMAT or GRE test scores must be submitted.  

Students must meet admission requirements as prescribed by Cal Poly Humboldt.

Final admission decisions will be made by the MBA Graduate Program Coordinator.
