Rachel Lee, 2013 B.S. Business Marketing Concentration

2013 Business with an emphasis in Marketing
“I love to be involved in multiple businesses,” she explains, “I consider myself a serial entrepreneur. I think networking, collaborations, and teamwork are key to unlocking opportunities.”

For Rachel S. Lee, business has always been a passion. “I closed my first deal at age 5. It was at a yard sale.”
Armed with certificates in Marketing, Sales, and Entrepreneurship from an Orange County community college, she transferred to Humboldt to pursue a degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing.
While completing her coursework at Humboldt, Rachel was an active member of the Entrepreneur’s Club and the Business Internship program.
Additionally, she worked part-time as an assistant manager at a local retailer. She comments, “Being active in extracurriculars enhanced my skill set and helped prepare me for life after graduation.”
Rachel decided to stay in Arcata following her 2013 graduation; this allowed her to further cultivate the numerous connections she made during her time at Humboldt.
Not long after graduating, Rachel began guest lecturing in Humboldt business classes and teaching digital marketing workshops to various small business development organizations such as the North Coast Small Business Development Center, Arcata Chamber of Commerce, Humboldt Made, and Humboldt Business Challenge.
Rachel now teaches a digital marketing course through Humboldt’s Extended Education program and College of the Redwoods’ Community Education program.
She also runs a digital marketing consulting business. “I love to be involved in multiple businesses,” she explains, “I consider myself a serial entrepreneur. I think networking, collaborations, and teamwork are key to unlocking opportunities."
“Humboldt provided me with a fantastic environment to realize and accomplish many goals,” she says appreciatively.
