Teuana Montgomery, 2012 B.S Business Administration

"Fortunately for me, I have some experience with (institutional development); for this I can thank my internship I obtained through the School of Business at Humboldt State University"

TJ Montgomery is a 2012 graduate of Humboldt State University, earning a degree in Business Administration.

T.J. was born and raised in the Golden State, and upon graduation from high school she went straight to Humboldt State University where she "enjoyed four glorious years on one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States—maybe even the world!"

When TJ was a sophomore she became a student caller for the Phone Jacks program, and the following semester was promoted to the role of student supervisor. About a year later she became a member of the Humboldt Advancement Foundation board of directors, which she said was a great learning experience. During her final semester at Humboldt she joined the office of Development and Alumni Relations as an intern working on a student giving campaign.

“In March of 2012, I had the great fortune of coming across an application for a six month paid internship with the Iowa State University Foundation. I was just surfing the internet looking for a post-undergrad job when I came across the career-making opportunity of a lifetime, the Robert and Jean Watson Advancement Internship.”

Shortly afterward, TJ became a resident of Iowa, beginning her career in Iowa State University's Foundation office. Follow her adventure on her Intern Blog.
